To translate your website, or not to translate

It's a serious question yet very few website owners ask themselves this very question. So, why should you translate your website? Well, did you ever realize that the online English-speaking market accounts for only approximately 35% of the total market. That means you are literally missing out on a giant 65% of the market. Whoa!

So if you have a product that is marketed internationally, or if you market in your own multi-cultural country, then translating your website is a no-brainer. Here's an example of a translated page that was software generated in a very seo-friendly manner.

Now until Google indexes this page, the Google Ads will be on and off, but once stable, you'll see the translated page highlight Google ads that are in the translated language. Cool. It doesn't take an Einstein to work out this is good for business because your visitors will be able to read the ads as well as the content. That means your Google Adsense monetization stream will do much better.

The other reason you should consider translating your website is that non-English markets typically are less competitive than English markets. That means better rankings, easier, in the translated language. It also means more traffic in general which means that even your English primary site will typically improve in rankings. In other words, by focusing on non-English versions of your site, your English site will improve in rankings, and traffic. Super cool. The third main point is that if you translate the right way, you'll end up with heaps more real, physical pages created and indexed, which naturally increases the overall size of your site and shows the search engines natural growth in the size of your site.

Now translations can be very expensive so unless the translation absolutely needs to be perfect, than I would recommend against human translation services.
