Page Rank and Google - The hidden website traffic formula

Trying to get good page rank for your website can be a most frustrating experience for webmasters. Google is the most popular and most used search engine that is used in this day and age therefore it is important to increase your link popularity to your website with links that are pointed to your site which will result in increase a of your website traffic and your Google page rank. I am sure that most people who have a website are looking for an increase in traffic and a higher page rank.

There are many webmasters who are looking into ways to increase traffic and on how to obtain a higher page rank for their websites. Writing articles like the one you are reading is another way of gaining traffic and a higher page rank. Whether or not you choose to pay for web directory backlinks or not is up to you, be aware of the pages Page Rank that you are being added to because if this not a higher Page Rank than your website, the whole backlink idea is pointless.

What if I could prove to you that the value of back links from another website is not just about Page Rank. Even though Page X has a much lower page rank value, due to the fact that the number of outgoing links on Page X is so much smaller than on Page Y it actually transfers more page rank voting shares to each outgoing link than Page Y .

I was looking through a links directory on one of my sites to see how it had faired after the recent Google page rank changes and I noticed the page ranks varied from page to page. In other terms, a page rank end results from a "ballot" among all the other web sites on the World Wide Web about how important a page is. Check the page ranks of any top ten search results, I am sure you will see several sites that have lower page rank but Higher SERP ( closer to #1).

Much has been assumed that the higher the Page Rank, the better the Search Engine Results (SERPS) and related traffic benefits. Paid/Pro Memberships - most traffic exchanges offer free membership with the optional paid upgrades for extra benefits. First of all, there are some tools you can use to check your PR, namely the Google Page Rank Toolbar, which can be downloaded for free from the Google site, and is installed onto your browser.

I can't speak officially for Google, but what webmasters have learned is that page rank is based primarily on the links to your site (called backlinks) that determine for Google how important your site is. Page Rank has still some importance in determining your position in the rankings because it is based on the links and the content of your site. To calculate a particular sites PR, Google uses a fairly complicated algorithm based on the number of web links that it is aware of that link to the site in question.

This link building process can very time consuming and very difficult because there are lots of sites that will do anything to block there outgoing links from the search engines and this is a very frustrating thing to those who try so hard to do this the right way. Of course, there is a bit more to it than that and the reason that most people want to increase their PR is because Google takes this statistic into account when determining where a website will be displayed in their search results. Martin has been in marketing websites online for over 5 years and now has his own newsletter that is published fortnightly to help webmasters and website owners with different issues such as search engine optimization, internet marketing, website development and many more.

In conclusion Google Page Rank is as the name suggests a ranking system of pages and should always be considered when building websites to maximize the traffic generated to your site
