Free Hugs changes me in 24 hours

Well, since my post about my boss giving me a free hug and accidentally discovering Free Hug Man, it really got me thinking and everytime I thought about it, I'd smile. My 2 girls, 3 & 5 sat in my office chair together this morning and watched the Free Hugs Video with a huge smile and look of amazement as the story unravlled. Then they watched it again, and then again, and again. Kids really pick up things that sometimes, we adults, lose along the way. I was thrilled to expose them to the mindset of Free Hugs. Read the original article on how Juan Mann (pronounced One Man as a play on words) and find out more about the man behind what's quickly becoming a global event. Of course, if you want to check out the band behind the music and video, then that's pretty cool too. Good on them for coming out with such a non-conforming and non-commercial expression of love and peace. And the song is really cool too.

It's kind of like the Pay-it-Forward concept that came out of the Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt movie, but this is so mcuh more personal, impacting and immediate. What the world needs now is unconditional love and I'm excited to hear about the Sydney Free Hugs event being currently planned. And then, out of nowhere, people are picking up on the Free Hugs vibe and news is breaking out from all over the globe with people organising their own Free Hugs.

I look forward to seeing how Free Hugs continues to develop in the leadup to Christmas and the end of 2006. Tomorrow, my Auntie who I have not seen for 4 or 5 years is flying over from New Zealand to see me and the family. She'll be spending 3 nights with us, and guess what the 1st thing I'm going to do is? Give her a big Free Hug. It's a wonderfully beautiful and simple concept as it breaks down all boundaries in the physical and unconditional exchange.

Free Hugs is cool. It's time the world went through a peace cycle and Free hugs is a great way to start at the grass roots level. Give someone some Free Hugs today!
